War

I've been asked about Russia during the past few weeks as much as any geopolitical event in my lifetime. And while I'm learning as I go along with everyone else, this seems to be an ongoing thing with them (Georgia, Crimea etc.) I have no idea what will happen, what second order effects will come of it, or if any of it even really matters to investors. And IMO, Russia/Ukraine absolutely pales in comparison to the macro environment (inflation, interest rates, valuations etc.) impact on the markets. There are much bigger things going on there.

History is littered with conflict. LPL Research put out a great chart showing how regrettable selling many prior events can be just a short time later. If you want to sell stocks to make you feel better, good luck trying to get back in.
