Subscription Drip

Many of you may have recently signed up for Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming service, which exclusively carried the Dolphins-Chiefs NFL Wild Card playoff game. I've heard multiple people say they went to make the purchase, and were then made aware that they had already been paying for the Peacock subscription.

From the Wall Street Journal:

"The consulting firm West Monroe surveyed thousands of Americans in 2021, asking them to guess how much they spent each month on subscriptions. Their average response was $62. When they were given more time to guess again, they increased their estimate to $96. They were still way off. The correct answer was $273."

Run through a quick credit card audit every few months. Chances are, you'll find subscriptions you're paying for and not using. That cash flow can then be redeployed to more useful things. We're always looking for another $20 to pay off debt or save for retirement. There's low hanging fruit right before your eyes.
