End of an Era

A friend of mine shared this over the weekend. It's a helpful point of view around outsourcing any kind of work. When we discuss our services with prospective incoming clients, I often will ask how valuable one's time is to them?

And it's not just the absolute time it takes to do something. It's about the quality of the work being done. I know how much time I spend doing what I do. I know how hard it is, and I know how fast things change. You cannot spend 360 days a year letting investment skills and knowledge collect dust and think you can keep up.

So yes, there's a cost to outsourcing or delegating work. But many times, the focus should be on the cost of continuing to do things in house.
